Fixing it.

Troops, I’d like to present the latest volume in the Aunt Alex’s Army compendium.

Mending the Mirror: What Science and Medicine Have to Say About Fixing the Narcissistic Personality, In Plain English, is the result of Aunt Alex spending many late nights curled up with scientific studies, books, and medical journals, shaking her head in frowning disbelief, vowing to spread the word to the troops about her findings.  And her findings just aren’t pretty, Troops.

Does it ever seem like the mental health world has hope to offer people with personality disorders and their families, but the hope tends to be very vague and the evidence very obscure?  In Mending the Mirror, we’ve sorted out what the research has been, what the findings are, what has been tried, and what the scientists are working on now.  We’ll go through why that hope is so vague — and why toads act the way they do.  We’ll do all of this with scientific data and medical references, all in plain, clear, simple English (something at which scientists and doctors tend to be somewhat untrained).

I’d like some thoughtful feedback about this book.  If you’re interested and willing, please drop me a line at alexandranouri@gmail.com.  The first six responses will get a free digital file of the book, and in return I ask only for an honest review on Amazon.

In the meantime, the above was taken at Army Headquarters, where it is currently a brisk 8 degrees Fahrenheit.  Factor in the wind chill, and it’s -15  — that’s fifteen below zero, thank you very much.  Bundle up, Troops.  Mother Nature is reminding us who’s the boss.

I think the concept behind this book is brilliant because, even if we know there is no hope, even if we have held to the rule of “no contact” , we all still need to know the “why” of everything. The mechanics of it will help everyone to truly put their own self doubt behind them and help them move forward.

  2. What a great concept. There is no cure for this awful disorder there is only recovery on our part. With understanding, no contact and an honest look within ourselves we can move forward. I can’t wait to read it.

Without the solid facts about what he really is and the reality that he is forever broken, I would still be blaming myself and wishing I could have been a better woman…one who could love better, read his mind better, cook better, work harder and not be such a loser… Years of his toxic filth had poisoned my soul and turned me against myself.
Now, I have real truth to bring me home to myself. I am my friend again. I have stopped blaming myself and am devoted
    to healing my heart.
Alex may have saved my life…

I read it and it really hit home. Aunt Alex explains the research in plain English. Easy to read. Much easier than struggling through scientific stuff yourself. I like the way Aunt Alex gets to the point.
That little voice at the back of your mind: if only, maybe if ??? Gets silenced for good…..there is no fixing it. Good job Aunt Alex.

Well gee, I have so many questions…..Like ..Don’t we ALL have some narcissistic qualities ? And if that is true Can we not get better ? What happens when two Narcs get together ? I”m saddened to think these people cannot change. Everyone want to see them better.I can’t wait to read your book.
